About Ellen
You can do this!
And how do I know? Besides having had my own personal baby-feeding issues, I’ve helped thousands of families in the Bay Area with theirs.
Welcome! I’m Ellen, the founder and owner of Happy Milk Lactation Support. I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), which is the gold standard in advanced practice lactation care.
I love helping families when they need it the most in a calm and non-judgmental way, and am a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
History
How did I come to be an IBCLC? As a young adult, I loved being a volunteer health educator. Then, when my son was born a tad early, an IBCLC helped us tremendously, which allowed me to reach my personal feeding goals. She was so influential that, after some health issues, I decided that I would transition away from my career in breast oncology research and focus on my love of one-to-one health education and helping new families and babies. And I’ve never looked back!

My lactation education includes graduating from the UC-San Diego Lactation Consultant Program, completing a clinical internship with the Kaiser Walnut Creek Lactation Clinic, and I am an IBCLC through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. I continue to take continuing education courses and recertify with IBLCE every 5 years.
